This is rarefied stuff! But nonetheless inciteful for those of us who think about such things.

My question is how could such an ethos prevail in our society to impact overall behaviour? Presumably for the good. Whilst it is clear our education for life in the 21st century has to radically change - would you advocate that philosophy needs to deeply embedded in any curriculum?

“Donne’s ‘No man is an island’ speaks to a point different from Wilde’s; the latter adverts to the reach into individuality of the social setting, the latter of the reach outward to that setting, as exigently as a thirsty person reaches for a glass of water.”

You need a former if you have a latter, A.C..
