Will the Iranians follow through on their pledge to “take Trump out” before November or do they want to watch his downfall in the midterms? Either way they win demonstrating that Trump is a loser (as his so called business career attests)
Yes, but I have two further concerns about what is happening. The first is one the Founders feared: that a democracy must always allow freedom of expression, which in turn allows the rise of demagogues. If there is one thing Trump knows it’s how to weaponise language to fire up the mob. The second is that it’s not just the devotion to Trump that motivates the likes of Vance and Hegseth. It’s the ideologists and Christian-nationalists waiting in the wings for Trump to become so physically and mentally disabled that the Cabinet invokes the 25th Amendment section 4 to remove him. Then, Vance automatically takes over with the whole Dark Enlightenment tribe behind him.
